Middletown v Liberty GBB 2A State Quarter Final
Friday’s 2A State Quarterfinal pitted the Middletown Knights against the Liberty Lions. The Lions came out hot and with something to prove, while the Knights were a bit slow to start. Any time the Knights missed a shot, the Lions were off to the races, scoring most of their points in the first quarter off of transition. At the end of the first quarter the Knights were down by 10. I do not know what Coach Poffenbarger said to the girls between quarters, but it worked. The Knights settled down and made some adjustments, which allowed them to quickly erase the deficit and build a lead of their own outscoring the Lions 24-3 in the second quarter. There was no stopping the Knights after that, as they went on to win 70-46. Good luck to the Knights as they head to Towson on Friday for the State Semifinal game.
