Frederick v Middletown GBB CMC Championship

Tuesday’s CMC Girls’ Championship game pitted the Frederick Cadets against the Middletown Knights, two of Frederick County’s perennial powerhouses in girls basketball. In the first half both teams played well and the Knights were able to go into halftime up 9 points. But then in the second half the Knights appeared to turn up the pressure on defense which sparked them to extend their lead. It also helped that junior forward, Saylor Poffenbarger, had a career night scoring 42 points and grabbing 20 rebounds. The Knights would go on to win 70-44, and really look to be hitting their stride going into the state playoffs.
