2A Championship – Middletown v Potomac

On Saturday I had the pleasure of shooting the 2A Championship game, where the Middletown Knights took on the Potomac Wolverines. The Knights handled business on both sides of the ball and took down the Wolverines in a decisive 34-15 victory.

On offense Senior QB Reese Poffenbarger and his receiving corp racked up 318 yards — including several big passes made with impressive accuracy while on the run or while being hit. On the ground, the offensive line held strong and opened up nice running lanes allowing Junior running back Kadin Fisher to get 95 yards and eat up the clock.

Meanwhile, the defense was Scrooge-like and refused to give up points without a fight. Also, it seemed like every time the Wolverines made a push and threatened to tighten up the score, the Knights’ secondary would come up with a big interception and steal the momentum back.

Congratulations Knights — you deserved this win! I have had fun watching your journey to this Championship. Three words come to mid when I think of this team: Discipline, Resilience, and Confidence. Through blowouts and nail biters you remained steady, with your minds on your goal of winning the state championship. Coach Delauter has built something special here and I look forward to what he has in store in the future of this program.
